Relax, it's Sunbrella®
For an outdoor fabric that can keep up with your life, look no further than Sunbrella®, our premiere outdoor fabric material. Sunbrella® outdoor fabrics boast a range of resistances with minimal maintenance demands, so you can spend more time relaxing and less fussing over messes. How does a performance fabric make your life easier? Well, we're glad you asked.
Protect Your Skin
with Sunbrella®'s UV-Resistant Fabric
Thanks to an enhanced dying process and a specially formulated dye, Sunbrella® manages to saturate its acrylic fabric fibers to the core, creating extremely UV-stable colors. This process ultimately defends their fabrics against the sun’s harmful rays and your skin. Sunbrella® umbrellas and awnings received the Skin Cancer Foundation's seal of approval for their success in blocking damaging UV rays, but this isn't their only award.
What do dogs do on their day off? Can’t lie around – that’s their job.

Protect the Environment with your Sunbrella® Purchase
Sunbrella® products were also awarded the Greenguard gold certification for their low chemical and particle emissions during manufacturing. Many Sunbrella® patterns are even FACTS certified.
This means Sunbrella® received high marks for their minimal impact on economic and social influences throughout the product's life cycle. We only have one Earth, and Sunbrella® is a brand committed to more sustainable practices to help ensure we can enjoy our planet longer.
Protect Your Style with Sunbrella®'s Fade-Resistant Products
Most outdoor fabrics are dyed for surface-level color only. In other words, the dye does not saturate the fiber's core. Unfortunately, surface-level dyeing processes lead to faster color fading.
Sunbrella®’s dyeing process does the opposite. Individual fabric fibers are saturated all the way through, so the color is evenly distributed throughout the fabric. This process ensures the color doesn’t fade after hours in intense sunlight. With proper care, Sunbrella colors can last up to 10 years without showing signs of wear and tear.
Protect Your Health with Sunbrella®'s Mold and Mildew Resistant Fibers
Mold and mildew can be a thing of the past thanks to Sunbrella®'s acrylic fibers. Unlike cloth, acrylic is made out of plastic, so it doesn't retain water. Mold and mildew need water to grow, making it impossible for them to survive on Sunbrella fabrics.
However, there is a catch. Mold and mildew can attach to the dirt your Sunbrella® cushion or umbrella might pick up through day-to-day use, but don't worry. Cleanup is easy, and we can help!

Protect Your Time with Sunbrella's® Stain Resistant Qualities
With acrylic fibers, you don’t have to worry about spills ruining the material. We mentioned before that acrylic fibers don't absorb water, but that applies to all liquids. So ketchup, wine, chocolate, and even fruit stains can be a thing of the past.
Put the fabric to the test yourself and find all liquid pills on top of your Sunbrella® outdoor fabrics. Wipe the liquid away with a paper towel, and boom! The cleanup is complete. Speaking of cleaning, let's talk about maintaining your Sunbrella® products.
Sunbrella® Maintenance
Cushion Care
Caring for outdoor performance fabric is easy. All you need to maintain your Sunbrella® cushions is a little soap, water, and these easy steps:
- Brush off loose dirt from the product.
- Spray on a cleaning solution composed of 2 parts water to 1 part mild soap. Use a soft bristle brush, sponge, or clean towel to clean.
- Allow the cleaning solution to soak into the fabric for 15 minutes before rinsing.
- Rinse until the water runs clear.
For peskier stains, we recommend adding in some bleach. That's right. Sunbrella® is 100% bleach cleanable.
Mold & Mildew Stains
Sunbrella® products don’t sustain mold or mildew growth, but they may grow on dirt and other foreign substances if grime isn't removed from the fabric. To remove mold or mildew, follow these steps:
- Prepare a solution of 1 cup of bleach and 1/4 cup of mild soap for every gallon of water used.
- Spray the mixture on the infected area and allow it to soak into the fabric for 15 minutes.
- Clean the surface area with a clean sponge, towel, or soft bristle brush.
- Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
- Air dry.
For severe mold or mildew growth, increase the bleach ratio.
Pro tip: It is best to clean the entire surface area of the fabric to avoid water rings and stains.
